Hey there,
Here's a little about me...

The beginnings
As a passionate young actor (age 9) I was cast 'Little Freddy' in the Australian comedy-drama 'Garage Days'. This experience opened my eyes to the world of film and how to conduct oneself professionally on a film set. Since then I've scored a variety of roles for Australian commercials and TV shows. Learning about continuity, lighting, and the cost to organise large productions taught me the importance of focus when the cameras are rolling. Now, as a passionate photographer, I do my best to apply these learnings to each and every shoot.
My first photography award
At age 15, my high school (Sydney Grammar) announced a portrait photography competition with a cool $100 cash prize. Coincidently, Mum had recently purchased a Canon DSLR for work and we were both signed up on a school trip to hike the historic 'Kokoda trail' in Papua New Guinea. This treacherous 8 day hike through the jungle turned out to be a wonderful learning opportunity because I used photography as my vice, taking my mind off the physical anguish. I was absorbed by the intricacies of the settings; ISO, aperture, shutter speed and colour profiles. It was on this trip that I snapped a portrait of an elderly Papua New Guinean war veteran which went on to win the school prize with over 150 entrants.
Time to get serious
In 2019 I lived in LA for about 5 months, durning this time I made some amazing connections, some of whom were incredibly successful artists. Spending time with people who were truely living their dream as artists, influencers & actors really inspired me to take my passions more seriously. Upon returning to Australia I purchased my own full-frame mirrorless Sony A7C (an incredible camera), a variety of lenses, and the full-frame 4k 60fps DJI Mavic Air 2s drone. Now with the kit, I've been able to take the shots I've always dreamed of.
Taking on paid work
Although I engage in digital design & development work as my primary profession (see my work here), I've taken on several paid jobs as a photographer and videographer. I've had the privilege to travel through New Zealand in a campervan, take scenic helicopter flights, and camp in beautiful national parks to get the right shots for a variety of clients. I've learnt that Photography is much more than clicking the shutter, it's the process of making your subjects feel comfortable, confident and ultimately empowering them to reimagine how they're viewed by the world.
What's next?
There are two things which I love about being a photographer. Firstly, it's taken me to some wonderful places. Often I find myself waking up before sunrise or taking the off beaten path in search of a unique shot because it's motivating to know I might be leaving with an incredible photo-souvenir. Secondly, A photo is a wonderful gift to give. I'm proud to have captured one-of-a-kind moments of family, friends & places. It allows me to share my perspective of them, transforming a moment into a memory they can tangibly keep for the rest of their life.

So what're the steps in my photography journey? I would love to incorporate these two joys and make a living from it. Destination weddings, resorts, a musician's tour, remote product shots? I would love all of that, but who's to say... the future will tell.
